The final illustration you see in any book is the end of a very long road. Each painting begins its life as a simple sketch, sometimes no more than a scribble or a stick figure. These small sketches often capture the essence of the final image. From the scribble, I'll draw more detailed sketches. Each time I draw something I have the opportunity to improve it. Below are some of my sketches, the most important part of the process without which I couldn't do the final illustration.
