I've learned from trial and error (mostly error) that watercolor painting requires a degree of patience. Sometimes you just need to let it dry before you can mess with it. The urge to try to fix something immediately is powerful, so when I need to step away from the drawing table I pick up a ukulele. It's fun to play, lightens any mood, and has saved countless illustrations.
Song: Laughing Rag by Roy Smeck. Ukulele: 1930 Reed (probably made by Regal) walnut soprano.
